I moved to this countryside guest house, where I had made a reservation at the price of 550 Rs /night for 30 nights through Booking.com several months ago.
Now the owner said the price has changed to 850 Rs. from January.
“That’s a big surprise⁉️” I said.
After the negotiation, the price came down to 750 Rs include Breakfast.

And Lotte told me her upset story, too. She made a reservation for 3 nights at a seaside near Fort Kochi during her daughter & grand daughter’s visit.
They end up sharing a room with one couple because the owner made a double booking!

Anyway, the best way is not to react to the situation because Indian people have a different mindset.
This guest house run by Father Bala and 20 yrs old son Kamal. Kamal cooks & cleans rooms and is always joyful and works tirelessly.
I feel at home and can relax here. it’s much better than the noisy city.
Bala bought a small new bicycle for me. (Of course, I paid 1/3 for that), so that I can go to the town freely.
Hopefully, I can master Indian cooking from them.
